i think this is a dumb response too, cuz i had to tune my points after kitting it, but it was fine w/ stock head. what would some other symptoms of a bad condenser be?

look for one on ebay...thats the only place I could find one. If you don't find one right away keep checking back every week or so...they crop up every once in a while.

First thought check your local Honda motorcycle dealership....

I run CDI now, but back when I ran points my bike did exactly that, it was the condenser.

i wasn't saying he was dumb, i was saying i was dumb. but thank you dudes. i have been seeing a little point arc lately, i will look into this. i have a few puch motors kicking around, i may have a good one right under my nose. does any one know how to test a condenser, say with an ohmeter

the easiest way to test it is to just wire up another one and see if it fixes the problem. you can actually just get one of the G126's and wire it up without removing the old one. just splice it right into your ignition wire. easy as pie.

ignition wire goes from the stator to your HT coil. just splice it any where into there. and yes it will work fine with two caps.

hey dudes, either i didn't wire it up right or it's something else. i was just out riding and it went out again. it starts to fire weird before it dies.

should i have my new condenser grounded to the frame? or should i cut the blue wire and put one end on the condenser's wire and the other on the metal body of the condenser? i have it grounded to the frame now. and it's still being weird.

on a cooler note, just put an 18 tooth in front thus making me 18/45, w/ my new dmp70cc/19.5del/leovince/no matching yet/homemade 20+mm intake, and am now going about 45mph not quite wide open. and i still have low end to spare...then it poops out and i have to pedal it home, people around here are starting to laugh at me, i blast by all super fast in race tuck...then a few minutes later i'm pedaling back. HELP!

i'm trying the other way tomorrow...
