I just got a garelli ssxl for 50 bucks. I want to make bike 45 mph plus. Was needing some help with finding kits and making aftermarket exhaust work. anything anybody has done to these bikes or heard of let me know, would really be helpful.

ed posted his new pipes for garelli on the buy/sell forum recently. get one of those cause pipes that pre-fit garellis arent around often. of course you can cut and weld or bend a pipe intended for another bike.
other than that do a search. theres lots of that info already on here.

Great pickup. SSXL are so fun.
They make a 70cc Polini Kit which is very nice.

Because the cylinder has a weird exhaust mount angle, you are a bit out of luck with it comes to bolt on aftermarket exhausts.
Although, simply cut and weld a PUCH pipe to fit. They are a ton of options out there. I've personally done a estoril with great results.
There is a nice 20mm bolt on intake made by Polini to match up with a bigger carb or make one from your old stock pipe header.

Clean it up nice. My 99% STOCK ssxl goes 30+, just made sure everything was clean and no air leaks. The only other mod I've done is a new carb, and its just a dell 14. Tomorrow I'm adding a pipe though...

This is a pic of my 50 buck find. love this bike, i have always wanted a top tank garelli. didnt have to go but 20miles from home to pick up. thanks for the tips guys
