its the thing with the belt. the clutch is in the back, the variator is in the front (on the engine). pop the nut off and it comes apart.

That nut is a pain because the part its is on spins.Any tips to getting it off?
wait... the nut is spinning when you hold the variator? or it just hard to hold the variator? i just used a strap wrench on mine.
why are you taking it off? is it not variating correctly?
Im looking for the bushing people are talking about grinding the tab off of.
use a strap wrench or a piston stop (rope) to keep the engine from turning over. the bushing is in between the two pulley halves.
or if you have access to an impact wrench, that works too. it forces it off before the engine spins. i've also had success with using a ratchet and a mallet.
