whats the scoop?
what are you guys doing with these besides opening the transfers?
and what speed are you getting out of them?

I did nothing to mine... just matched it to the 3-transfer case, slapped on a 4-petal malossi intake and a 20phbg, with a ninja G2, and i'm hittin' mid low 50's on my TSM. still tuning tho, and changin' out the variator here soon, so.. yeah :D
They go pretty good. couple guys in seattle have been runnin' 'em, and they seem to be able to take quite a bit of abuse...
the human beans have delt with the gila..
quickest bike i ever rode.
but were upgrading. after the crash
i matched the stock case well, opened the intake on the case a bit. g3. 4 petal and 20 mil. i also chamfered the ports with a small file. that got me to 59 with the stock variator.
thats what im lookin for a number :)
so ben have you compared it to the polini 70?
im getting the gila this week but still want to try a few others. im getting 58mph out of my 50 polini but just want more all around power. the 50 takes for ever to get there. i feel like a 70 kit should get me there a bit faster
The Gila seems to take tons of abuse, the polini takes a fair amount but needs a little more attention. I think you get more hp outta the polini but that comes at the extra cost of attention and time trying to match up the case. Also they both should peak out at similar speeds with the same gearing, variator setup. If your performance measure is speed they both should both do well, one just gives you a little more in the midrange then the other, at least is seems that way to me. Oh and a 50cc GR1 Peugeot kit pulls pretty much the same top speed as both of those kits. It's all relative.

i feel like the polini 70 has more grunt at the bottom, but the gila picks up the slack on the mid-top. i have never had equal setups, though. the polini is on a polini case/intake, the gila is on a stock case/polini intake.
i will be running it on the polini case polini reed block and molossi stroker crank. so i feel like i will be doing allot of port matching. as the gila seems to have some small transfers compared to the polini case
4000+ miles on mine. super fast almost 70 and could ride WOT all day long. it was a beast.
so here is the update case matched for the polini bottom end then connected the tranfers to the 2 boost ports up top. be careful when doing this. cause they are really close to the holes for the engine studs.
tons of low end and midrange still only going into the high 50s up top but thats with a small carb we will see what the 20mm does in a few days.
Great kit. Haven't ridden the Polini, but I can tell you that the Gila is awesome.
Miguel just got one of these. The dude loves to tune and tune and tune the thing.
It's fast... like real fast. I pretty much only ride peugeot mopeds, and I can say that his new kit is rad.
He's currently blasting the shit out of my cdi/polini everything/doppler setup... i'm lazy and need to pull out an old stuck ring, but my bike runs well enough so I don't bother.
