Xingyue XY50QT

Bought a pair of these mopeds last week, been searching around the internet for mods on them, but cant find a single thing. They don't seem like a very popular moped for some reason. They are 49cc. And i am looking to do whatever i can do to enhance the performance in them. If anyone can point me in the right direction, preferably something with diagrams or something it would be greatly appreciated. (Was looking at the exhaust in hopes of me removing baffle, but A. i don't even know what a baffle looks like, and B. i don't even see how u can disconnect exhaust, it looks to be all welded. )

Thanks Alot,

Ken

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

My guess is theyre chinese. Have any pics? Are they two stroke?

If theyre two stroke you can do things like port the cylinder and mill head.

Unless theyre a knock off of a popular european ped, you probably wont find performance parts for the bikes.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

Here is a link with specs

I don't know much about them, i do know it is a 4 stroke though

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

Google chinese scooter parts

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

"google chinese scooter parts"

That's really not going to tell me what or how to mod anything though..lol

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

Neither are we, this is a moped site.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

"Neither are we, this is a moped site."

This is the performance area James G if you dont have any comments regarding performance or regarding my op, please stay out of my thread..Thanks

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

yes its the performance thread, what you have are scooters not moped, a lot of us dont know much about scooters, there are some who do, but i cant name names.

search for a scooter forum, they might be able to help you a little better then we can

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

Yep, you are in the performance area. The performance area of the MOPED army. Moped stands for MOtor & PEDals.

Does your scooter have pedals? Nope, so you're in the wrong place here. No biggy, just google some scooter site. Most of us don't know much about scooters so we really can't help you out. Sorry dude.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

"Moped" is a legal category (at least in U.S.), while "scooter" is not.

"Moped" in most states refers to a small motorcycle, which has may relaxed licensing and insurance requirements.

The details vary by state, but the usual combination seems to be:

- Under 50cc

- Under 30 mph

- Under 1.5-2 horsepower

Seeing that i had to go to the secretary of state and get my "Mopeds" registered with stickers that go on the back of them that says "Moped" on it. I'm pretty sure i am driving a "Moped"

But i will go find somewhere else where the people will help. Maybe the name of this site shouldn't be "Moped"Army seeing they dont want u talking about all "Mopeds"

Thanks for all the help

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

A legal definition is something else as a lingual definition.

The word moped literally is an abbreviation of the words motor and pedals. It's an old word and most laws are old. As old as when there were no scooters.

It's not our choice that your state describes your machines as motor and pedals, they chose that description. It doesn't make it necessarily true.

Anyway, we don't help you because we can't help you, not because we don't want to. We don't know anything about Chinese 4-stroke scooters, as we are into vintage (60's, 70's and 80's) and modern 2-stroke motorized bicycles.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

Be careful what you call your vehicles on the scooter sites too. There are some scooterists who are just as touchy about names as we are. I've seen stickers with a picture of a scooter on them that say "It's not a damn moped!" So yeah, I hope you don't piss the scooter people off too with your refusal to listen and your insistence on telling everyone what the "facts" are, because they actually have the knowledge and expertise to help you.

_But i will go find somewhere else where the people will help. Maybe the name of this site shouldn’t be "Moped"Army seeing they dont want u talking about all "Mopeds"_

No, we talk about all real mopeds. You have scooters. But I'm not going to re-hash that point. The point is, we deal with VINTAGE PEDAL TWO STROKE two-wheeled vehicles. What you have is NEW NO-PEDAL FOUR STROKE. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that would make both my moped and your scooter go faster is for the rider to lose weight.

Lastly, just because your state calls them mopeds doesn't mean your state knows what it's talking about. Who do you think knows more about mopeds? Moped enthusiasts (us) or your state? Your state can call it whatever they want; that doesn't make it something it's not.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

Yes Linda, quite obvious you have all the expertise needed to help me, you and everyone else here. Get a clue would you, i would love to see your ignorance go into the secretary of state and tell they that they are misinformed on what they are calling vehicles..I will say it again..GET A CLUE! As far as losing wait goes, i do believe you prob do need to lose weight. Save your ignorance and expertise for someone who actually cares what you have to say, no need to reply, I wont be back to read you.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

LOL. Have a nice day.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

Its spring and time for all the new scooter retards to post. I like how incredibly rude they get when they are simply told thats not what this site is about.

ken dawg SFTU! if your shit doesnt look like this:

YOU DON'T HAVE A MOPED! people here are ALL SAYING THE SAME THING! so that means THIS site all agrees that you have a couple of shit chinese scooters! we ride/modify/fix mopeds period, all of our bikes have pedals and motors homie, walk the fuck on

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

I'm confused to why he got so hostile? didn't we give him the advice he needed to succeed?

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

_I’m confused to why he got so hostile? didn’t we give him the advice he needed to succeed?_

I know, right? The initial responses were remarkably well-mannered and reasonably helpful (at least he was told to try a scooter forum), and it was even pointed out that we weren't giving advice because we don't have any advice to give, not because want to be assholes. He got all defensive and rude for no reason. Gotta love the interwebz.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

i also love the fact he tells you to loose "wait". i can not believe people cant see a difference. i think we need a little clicky box on the main page (like the porn ones for 18)that say "does your bike have pedals?" if yes, enter, if no, links to wikipedias moped page.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

man, i hope you didn't take the clear plastic of your seat... if you did, that is what is holding your scooters back. reapply the original covering and expect to get at least 15mph more out of those things.

Re: Xingyue XY50QT

actually the secretary of state at the federal level, section 49 of the national highway safety administration doesn't even list "moped" at all.

The proper term for what we ride, at a federal level is motor driven cycle.

"motor driven cycle"

look for moped, search it yourself.

http://www.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/cfrassemble.cgi?title=200249

you wont' find it.

motor driven cycle

and retardboy has a ripoff chingchong scooter
