Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 dudes

Setup:

stock AV10 case

polini reeds

Bidalot 50cc

doppler pipe

19 race del jetted at 100.

I have done an extensive search for airleaks, because 100 seems like a huge jet on a 50cc. This is the largest jet currently in my arsenal. The low throttle ranges are great, but above 1/2 throttle I need to add a little choke to it, But blasts insanely fast when I do. Is over 100 concievable for this setup? Spreadsheet shows low 90's for other 50cc screamers.

Another question... Doppler clutch pulley makes a crazy crunching noise but only when it starts engaging. I greased up all the bearings including the one-way. I heard that this clutch was loud, but is this the right noise? It's like a crunching rough engagement. input?

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

i ran a 90 something in a 15mm SHA on a 50cc av10.

its not the bore its the porting.

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

Sometimes you will not find an air leak until you rebuild the motor and all of a sudden become super rich.

It does sound a little high, just a little.

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

needle setting?

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

Needle setting is still stock. Idle is at 45, mixture screw turned all the way in. Running a uni filter. The lower range is good for now, I was gonna wait to get the main right before really messing with those.

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

bump forclutch noise question

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

I'd go for raising the needle (move the clip lower) and see if that helps/

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

I'm not too worried about the carb, I was just sketch about being out of normal range, indicating another problem. An upjet of a couple sizes and I should be fine. Thanks for all the input.

Anyone have any input on the crazy clutch crunching sounds?

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

tracy, just found this. i had crunching sound too. shimmed it up, sanded the pads and it went away. posted on it a few weeks ago. maybe it did for you too...it was a damn obnoxious sound when it lasted. now it's all good....

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

There is no "stock" needle. They tend to come with different ones, so you might want to try different needles. 100 sounds a little high too have to pull the choke for safe running.

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

haha, I posted it so long ago.

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

so what did you do to fix it?

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

I run a 106 in it. After checking everything out, It seemed solid, no airleaks or anything, so I gave it what it wanted. It's a pretty vicious bike. 55+ on 50cc! (the super cheater frenchy way)

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

I still wonder what causes that crunching sound. I mean, I never shimmed mine and the sound just went away after a couple of weeks.....I wonder if its the pads?

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

yeah, mine went away too, and is much smoother by now.

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

Funny enough mine never really made any crunchy sounds but would shudder a little bit sometimes. As a recent experiment I used a set of 150cc scooter clutch pads in it and then switched back to the original set and suddenly it never shudders anymore.(which might I add 150cc scooter clutch shoes work fitting wise, but cause a really loud squeak sound, I'm going to get some nice pads eventually to try out. The pads I had where off a cheap Chinese scooter and appeared to be made out of really hard pad material)

Re: Is this jetting absurd or concievable? AV10 du

yea, inspected the pads many times and found that the metal parts around them might have been hitting the bell. so i filed those down a bit. and also filed the pads a bit too to make them round to engage the bell evenly. also figured it might be the 3 springs not being equal tension initially. after time, maybe they all settle to about the same tension and you get a more even engagement.
