cheap minarelli tuning.

I just got a V1 up and running solid. I'm wondering how I can boost my performance w/o kitting? Porting is in my future for sure, but what pipes are people running?

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

stock cylinder, 14/12 carb, low gearing (not sure what), puch techno boss - setup only gets up to low 30's but gets going really quick. very fun bike for around town

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

brian- you selling that motron pipe?

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

seriously though alot can be had from raising the exhaust. make the intake port a lil' bigger and get a 14mm intake and drill out the stock carb.

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

You can port the cylinder.. allll most to a 75cc.. polini..

do some port maps.. a little math.. figure where you want the rpm of the motor..

If you do not change the exhaust pipe on the v1 engine..

Your going to stay in the low 30's...imo

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

hell yeah erin! kits are flame broiled lameburger in paradise

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

i just got my self a v1 as well. id like to know more about the porting part.

i know i can widen the intake. how about raising or lowering anything? i want to be sure cause i really dont wanna fuck it up.

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

not to thread jack but this does kinda go along with the discussion. ill keep it quick:

i picked up a yankee peddler with V1 which is super restricted. havent seen the ports or anything yet, but the 14.9 dellorto SHA and tiny intake manifold is a dead give away. the bike runs fine and as it should, just slow. ive only ever known the minarelli V1 to be a pretty quick little engine... anyone know what kind of restrictions they build in to make the slower models? just wanna know how far i can get with a carb swap and maybe a pipe.

Re: cheap minarelli tuning.

You should get another top end to port instead.

Minarelli is a fast engine you just need he 19mm polini take it works on the stock cylinder and a aftermarket pipe.
