Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

Yep. I am. On an 80 Metra.

At least 750 miles on it.

Runs great.

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

the pads tear off

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

Yeah sabat, the info I gave you turned out to be too much slippage. I'll re-adjust it this weekend a half a turn and see what happens. To anyone else reading this: Two full turns in from flush is a little too much. Joe

Thanks, Joe

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

so its ok WITHOUT a clutch reinforcement plate?

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

reinforcement plates are for high RPM

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

high rpm engagment right? not just high rpm motors im thinking...i dont have a tac but would a kstar 70 with kstar -dmp crank and proma gp and 16 sha be considered a high rpm motor?

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

2 and a half turns on the blue springs will be too much.

I think the blue springs are stronger then paz springs.

No that doesnt make em better, just a dif adjustment.

i

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

mine slips a whole lot id dont know how i feel about it any one have good luck?

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

mine slips enough to melt my clutch bell.

for real, and make all the atf in the tranny boil.

i dont have time to work on it much more, but after i tear down the whole magnum build and put it on a cobra, ill see what can be done with the clutch.

@Joe still havent gotten the new clutch brace to mount without rubbing, i think i might need different hardware.

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

Thats odd, and the bolts are fully seated and flush with the brace? Joe

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

Ive seen pads getting super fucked up so i sanded mine down a little and rounded them out before installing.. after a few hundred miles, my clutch is nearly grabbing like it used to. I switched back to stock springs. Anyone else have similar problems? I feel like the springs should have lasted longer.

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

used stock springs that it came with on a treats super clutch and it works great, no issues. I use Dexron ATF and it always slips a nice amount and seems to wearing extremely well.

Re: Treats 3 shoe clutch with blue springs

My three shoe bent from lack of reinforcement plate, and the crappy swing arms ovalized.
