I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

So I figured out my multivar jamming issues. Turns out a few threads left some shards of metal in between the inner bolt of the var. I cleaned it out and it helped a little bit. Then I filed down the metal between the red plastic guides and it slid perfect. I re-assembled and put some blue lock tite on the nut and slapped her back on the bike and she works pretty well now. Still need to dial in tuning, my pipe is hitting after about 15 mph and I want RAPID acceleration from 0-15.

I feel like the only way to get massively quick take off from 0-15 is to re-gear.

Right now I'm geared stock 11-52.

Quarter kick is selling a 13t pully gear I was thinking about.

or

I need to find a rear gear over 52, like 56.

Set up:

Pug 103 U3

50cc GR1 kit

50cc hi-comp head

20mm dell

malossi intake, 4 pedal

stock case, ported

dopper pipe

Ducati CDI

Malossi Multi-var

Anyone have any leads on wheelie gearing a 103?

I want to smoke everyone off the line. I don't care too much about top speed anymore. I've gone 60mph and I never even get enough space to go that fast down here in LA.

Any ideas?

Hmm I have the 50mm parmakit for the 103's.. if you wanna kick some ass and take names later..

Email me..

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

the human house /

get a 70 kit.. and leave stock gearing

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

go forward and then teach me your secrets. when we gonna finally meet up?

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

think I might have close to right setup at the moment but I need bit more time and 2 different motor pieces to pull it off and my big rear gear which is 59.. which was a stock rear sprocket for the TSM's. But I think it's possible with 50cc kit, guess we will see.

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

13t will not give you more torque over the 11t. have to go with bigger rear sprocket

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

yo naz,you thinking about clutch pully's?

I feel like this 50 kit should definitely out monster those 70 kits.

You've seen the GR1 50cc ports!

I thought this thing would rip harder and quicker.

So far it's pretty identical to my polini 70....

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

he's runnin' a clutch pulley and a malossi variotop and a 16mm dellorto.. and his bike blasts everyone off the line... like.. everyone...

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

The 70 kits will naturally have more torque because of the bigger displacement, not via port size and placement. But you can make those 50 kits rev to insane speeds. I've heard of the French tuners taking the nicer kits up past 14k rpm's, albeit with a lot of work!

You need to get a larger rear sprocket, like a 60 tooth or larger and the clutch pulley. The 13 tooth front sprocket will not net you anything for the wheelie factor.

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

clutch pulley and slim fast

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

thanks pete, how'd you know I was a big'n!

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

yeah larger front sprocket= higher top speed and loss of torque, smaller front= more torque and slower top speed.

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

lighter weights in the variator?

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

to pull the front end up fo with a reasonable 70cc kit and 19mm carb/intake also a pipe, then to a larger rear sprocket.. more torque at the motor/ gearing makes it more at the rear wheel, and with a pipe and carb you will be able to rev higher and still have reasonable speed.

put a long seat on it and sit reeeeeeeaaal far back

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

or rear pegs? and stand back and pull up real hard?

Video to come! (maybe not o.O; )

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

also, correct me if im wrong, but higher compression means more torque just like stronger magnets mean higher torque on an electric motor.

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

I plan on popping wheelies on my peugeot 103

1. Polini 4 petal reed case with carbon fiber reed

2. ParmaKit Crank

3. ParmaKit 70cc 46mm water cooled cylinder kit

4. Mikuni 24 mm flatside carb

5. Polini Radiator

6. Bosch auxilary water pump from a MB slk230

7. BikePuter (for accurate Mph)

CDI and Multivar Next......

Ps I can pop wheelies just by pulling up on my handlebars and throwing my weight back on a stock motor with a 4petal reed block and a 15.15 sha and a pipe. nothing like the wheelie I pull on my 72 Yamaha DT250. but a wheelie no doubt. A little more power and I could prolly ride it for more then 5 feet. It is possible very possible.

Re: I want to make my 103 do wheelies...

ps the long seat does help, and its easy for me to sit real far back being 6'5" tall
