OK, so I was wondering if it would be OK to just get the Polini Kit without matching up the case. I just want to bolt and go. I would like to be able to hit 40mph on the flats with my Magnum XK. What kind of carb and pipe should I get?
Also, I was considering just getting the treats 70cc party pack kit? Who makes that thing, and how would it compare to the Polini?
you should just get the 70cc party pack. it will have less chance of seizing and is a solid kit that can get you to 50mph
why dont you want to grind the case? its easy. why do you need to bolt on and go? are you in a huge hurry or something? spending 15 minutes matching your case will help you get to the fire quicker in the long run, thats for sure.
making a fast bike isnt a matter of slapping shit on and going. theres a lot more to it than that.
but yeah, if you just want an immediate 38-40, just slap on a 70cc k-star...

15 or 16 SHA with intake (buy some jets too)

70cc k-star (since youre impatient, this is the perfect kit. damn near impossible to seize even with no break-in. trust me)

go with the polini and a 15 bing. You will blast a 70kstar anyday.
polini you have to case port match, the biggest problems with polini kits is the intake side seizing cause you you to port the channels to help the boost ports flow.
kstar is more solid for the type of build you want to do, but if you want shit to last, your gonna have to work at it, and kstars are shitty cheap casted cylinders that need major chamfering on all the ports,
no offense, but are you lazy or you arent comfortable doing it
send me your cases and kit, i'll case port match them and rebuild your e50 for super cheap.... polinis are expensive but when built right there faster then any kstar, but kstars are cheap and pretty awesome kits when cleaned up....

no matter how cheap k-stars are, you can abuse the shit out of them and theyll still run. good luck doing that with a polini.
k-star is definitely the best choice for somebody who doesnt wanna do anything else.
plus if youre going to spend money on a polini without modding your case, youve officially wasted money. with the k-star its only $100 so no big deal.
polinis are expensive for a reason.
Plus if you go polini, then when you want to really blast, its super easy.
On a tccd your very limited to serious blasting.

port it or not, it doesn't totally matter. People say you will seize the intake cause the boost ports don't open, but I don't believe thats true. I know a few people that have polinis that will blast everyone, yet aren't even ported, and have run reliably for years. I ran mine unmatched awhile back and it was still super fast. If you are jetted properly and timed correctly, case matching will just get you even more performance over what you are already gaining over just about every other kit.
Polini is the best kit for puch, I don't care what anyone says. They are reliable, powerful and really good quality. Their reputation is based on a bunch of people with really crummy tuning skills, not the kit itself. Take care of it and it will take care of you.
