kitted v1

DAM' Fairchild /

ok,i got a pryer trike with the v1 on it.i was wanting to put the 90cc kit on it.im kinda scared of destroying the engine tho.does anybody know what all mods would be not nesacary to put the kit on the bike? is this even a good idea to do? i am kinda worried about the crank myself.

Re: kitted v1

They make many high performance parts for these engine.. also new case.. so mod away!..

Re: kitted v1

Minarelli cranks are plenty strong, and depending on year they are full roller bearing.

Never a bad idea to rebuild with new bearings and seals though! go to Handybikes and print out the PDF fo the motor breakdown they have posted. It works well to understand how it goes together.

hell yeah man. thanks for the info. what is a good carb for the 90cc kit? will i need 2 upgrade the clutch? this is going to be a sweet bike!

Re: kitted v1

the clutch is the weak link

upgrade clutch is all most $200

Re: kitted v1

clutch is not weak, just not many upgrades that aren't $$$. Never had a problem with the stock though.

Re: kitted v1

dot go all the way to 90cc on it.. use the polini 47mm kit and the stroker crank. then ask ed about the new springs and clutch upgrade for the V1.. you need more grunt for the 3 wheeler and the 90cc will do that but runs hot

Re: kitted v1

just run the 90cc and put tons of fans pointing at it .

i run the 90 cc with no fan haha

no problems either

im using a 21 mm carb

Re: kitted v1

The Polini kit is easier, especially if this is your first time kitting. The clutch is not weak, and will do fine on a kitted bike, its just pricy if you want to upgrade it.

Re: kitted v1

the clutch is strong ,oh ok.

i thought i read the ed blew up his clutch? that was one of my reasons for not putting a kit on my V1

Re: kitted v1

Yea ed blew up a clutch, ed has lots of crazy kitted minarellis. People blow puch clutch shoes left and right, even on stock bikes. If you think its a reason not to kit a minarelli you don't know what you're talking about.

Re: kitted v1

Coco, only after 2 years of driving everyday.

I got my monies worth out of it.

Clutch is strong, chain the oil .. sooner more often its only 1/2 pint.

I do have a really really kool upgrade stock kit now :)

Includes:

4 superstock brake pads

4 superstock Heavy Duty brake pad springs

2 superstock Heavy Duty clutch springs (1500rpms)

2 superstock SuperSticky clutch shoes (lighten)

$85 shipped

These are all aftermarket parts Meaning there NEW not nos.

If you don't want these parts please get out your manuals.

Make sure your strong or have the correct tool to put the clutch springs. The kit is design to work with the stock clutch assembly. I have one of these ktis install on my ped works very nice.

damn ed,thanks for the advice.my trike is bone stock, and that polini kit would prolly be just right for it.it prolly shouldnt go to fast cuz its old and on rusty spokes. however,i would like some better acceleration ,its not to hateful 4 being stock. she keeps up with a tomos 2 speed till 30mph. also, how do i check the fluid on it?where is the drain/fill? im interested in the clutch, but it will be 2 weeks before i have the cash due to the exhaust i just purchased and incoming rent. thanks man.
