reeds not completely closing, daelim tomos setup

What are the implications of reeds not completely closing. On an TOMOS A35, with the reeds off the bike the reeds stay open maybe .25 mm.

I used polini reeds at first and the bike wouldn't even start with those.

The bike runs like crap, bogs like crazy at starts. runs decent and pretty fast on long straight stretches once it gets up to speed. dies randomly at idle, but can idle well at a low rpm randomly too

16SHA, Daelim intake, bi turbo, 60 jet, exhaust port outlet matched to biturbo, that hump is taken out. Exhuast port window untouched.

good plug color.

what gives

Re: reeds not completely closing, daelim tomos set

The pedals are probably warped or there is something wrong with the reed block thats keeping them from closing. Make sure none of that rubber stuff is peeling.

what now though? i 'll try polini ahgian

Re: reeds not completely closing, daelim tomos set

Reeds that don't close will effect the idle but if they are too stiff they will too. Is this the four petal or the stock cage. Polini reed material has different colored script on it to signify thickness. What color is yours?

Re: reeds not completely closing, daelim tomos set

Have you tried flipping the reed itself over, that may close the gap with the reed block.

Re: reeds not completely closing, daelim tomos set

My polini reeds are black. I'm going to try the polini reed block on there now.
