If you can start it up without it getting out of control and reving to top throttle then: start it and use carb cleaner and spray where; the intake meets the engine, where the intake meets the carb, and the base of the kit. If it starts to stall; thats where a leak is.
a35's tend to have air leaks where the intake/reed block meet the engine. Its hard to get rid of too. I had the same problem. I used brand new gaskets along with permatex motoseal 1 gasket maker. I also ran a bead of it along the outside of the intake too just to make sure. Its the only thing i could find to do the trick.
