Very Slow take off.

I just set up my g3 with a new 505/2d bottom end matched to 65 autisa kit , 14.5 intake matched to cyl, new 15mm bing, new spark plug, Stock gearing. My problem is when i go to take off in first gear it just bogs and eventually dies. If i get a rolling start it will rev up and will go well through 1st and 2nd gear. Ive tried all sorts of jetting between 82 and 94 and all sorts of needle positions. I was thining possibly air leak? But it idles fine and plug is light black. Any help would be appreciated!

timing

Re: Very Slow take off.

Thanks, I will try to adjust the timing on the next warm day.

Re: Very Slow take off.

ya ignition timing and i would check your compression.

Re: Very Slow take off.

leaks of all sorts might make that also

Re: Very Slow take off.

Ive made some progress. I was lean in the low rpm's. I richened the needle and tried it with a high flow filter instead of no filter at all and i can actually start moving from a stop with some good pep. Another problem was i just needed to get a better feel for the bike. I guess i was letting out the clutch too fast at too low of rpms. When my 80 athena comes in it should flyyy. Im just scared of the clutch nut spinning off. EEEkk

Thanks!

Re: Very Slow take off.

wait you have a manual clutch ?

Re: Very Slow take off.

yes sir

Re: Very Slow take off.

haha! ^

yeah dude, like i told you, let that shit slip.

these guys can't even imagine how sick your bike is, you should show it off a lil.

i think once you get comfortable working the gearbox, you'll be able to outrun everyone.

have you tried down shifting to make it up a hill yet?
