haaa I'll trade ya sucka
Seriously? Way to troll it up.
I'm coming over tomorrow.
i think i decided the malossi would be better... the piston skirt, and piston block off half of the intake for most of the cranks duration...and the intake is being fed basically directly into just the one side/port... sketchy
and the kits piston skirt doesnt even touch the engine case on that whole half of the engine...cause the simo half is bored out for the 86cc kit. its weirrrrd.
the malossi case seems inconvenient to get to the carb though, but can use the same carb/reed setup...
is there anything else bad about the malossi cases?i guess the intake will kinda be blocked by the crank right? does anyone know what size cylinders will fit properly in them out of the box, without modification?
the intake is neither fed directly into one side port, or blocked by the crank in the other 'case'. the way a two stroke engine works is the charge is sucked in to the case as the piston goes up compresses the previous charge while the transfer/exhaust ports are blocked off, makes its round in there lubing everything up, and gets pumped up through the transfers as the piston goes down, during which time the intake is either blocked by the piston, crank, or reeds, it is never going directly from intake to transfer ports.
the piston skirt definitely blocks the intake on the simo case half... and that can be cut off... but even still, its not optimal.
i know how 2 strokes work.
but being that optimizing a 2 stroke engine deals a lot with optimizing flow, and the ease for it to flow... on the malossi case, the crank isnt going to stop the charge from being set, but it is another obstacle for the charge and air/fuel flowing quickly and effortlessly.
im just wondering which system would be better, thats all. and if anyone has used both. and which kits the malossi case fits out of the box (What is it bored to?)
im not too crazy about how the simo case half is bored huge, and the sleeve doesnt even touch anywhere on that side, although it doesnt technically matter, cause its stable.
the malossi routs the air down and under the crank.
right, but it still has to go around the crank, instead of not going around anything like say a peugeot case. or even the simo case (minus the sleeve issues)
im sure it doesnt make much of a difference...
does anyone know what bore that malossi case is? im guessing 64cc kits wont work with it? im assuming its bored to fit the 46mm kits?
it goes around the crank in every case, that's what im trying to tell you andrew, does not matter if its case inducted or cylinder inducted, it gets sucked in to the crank case, mixurized, pressurized and turbulized, and pushed up through the transfers when they open. the simo case half is actually more like puch/peug/moby/etc.
and yes, malossi cases will fit all size kits, does not matter that its bored to accept a bigger skirt and the smaller skirt does not touch (it never really touches all the way), as long as there is enough gasket mating surface.
