I know someone has done it. I've been mulling it over for about a month now.
I'm thinking it can be done with some heavy fabrication and some long shocks. Probably cutting the old airbox/subframe away.
What say you?

unless God put in here on earth it can be fixed, the question is: how fast do you want to go?
"TA DA":http://peterbilt.wordpress.com/
yup. not hard. no taller shocks needed really.
just do some exploring on reed blocks on ebay and do what you gotta do.
i wont however tell you the block i am using.
have about 300 miles on it now, ready for L.A.!
Thanks all.
Okay.
So, should I just look into getting one of those Polini pocket bike four petals?
I mean I could order one of the setups for a Puch polini kit, but I know I'm gonna need to do some fabing so.?.
puch polini = way too small imo.
FUUUUCK!
No longer ready for LA?
seen that happen... :-(
poopers! maybe the polini block isn't too small?
already back together. spare bottom ends galore!
hopefully i can get more miles out of this one haha.
man, i gotta tell you guys though... do yourself a favor, seriously.. no matter what kit you decide for your hobbit, save your pennies and return all your bottles do whatever it takes to get a motomatic pipe. it will seriously change everything you know about hobbits forever.
i hope the derbis and peugeots of the west coast are ready because there is a hobbit from michigan who is going to put up a good fight in LA.
its great that u got all fixed........
So a mikuni or some such reed block?
I'm not gonna be able to go to LA this year- not that my hobbit would compete- I'm sure.
However my other hobbit has been giving me the sexy eyes and I'm really thinking about building her up.
Thus the reed block contemplations.
I've got a proma pipe for her, but I'm thinking one of those rizzato califfone monomarcia polini circuit pipes from treats would be sicker then all other circuits. Cut the header and mounting bracket and flip the pipe over so it sticks out on the right, then weld up a hobbit header and some mounting brackets. That pipe is for sure much larger and more in charge then the proma. Dang.
Damn Peter.
Glad you got it back together so fast.
And yeah, the MMM pipe I have is stupid.
Just plain stupid.
TWO power bands = Rad beyond words.
nice turn-around!
Can dual-stage (Boyesen et al) reeds fit in there, Peter?
No they can't, already talked to them.
Criggity crap I can't figure out what reed block yer 'secret' reed set is. It looks a bit like a honda CR reed set would work but the actual whole intake block looks way off.
Okay... I think I got it.
I'm guessing something off of a tgb scooter. Peter, do you have an nc50? I am trying to figure out if a motomatic would fit an nc50 express. There is only one pipe I have found that will fit the express out of the box, and its got a pretty wimpy little chamber, but it is still far and away better than the stock one. I bought a homoet to hack and weld onto my express, but its looking more like its gonna end up on my G3 instead. If you could somehow check and see ifn it would fit, I would be much appreciated. I can only imagine how ridiculous it would be, the pipe would straight up cost like twice what I have put into the bike total, not to mention its fucking huge. I should be getting my DR kit this week, as per your advice. What reeds do you run on the dr.? I have the stock ones, some carbon ones and both the stiffer "modded' dually reeds, and the softer "stock" dually. Just wonder ifn any of you guys have any exp playing around with which one works best for you. Thanks.
peter, isnt keeping secret moped parts secret hard?
you never should have shown anybody any pics besides the one of the assembled engine.
Hold tight, a bolt on four pedal is coming soon.
mmmmmm
oops.
Secrets don't make friends.
mmm...
I just had one of those show up on my doorstep too.
