thinking about a minarelli V1 on a moby

hey,

has anyone done it with success? i've got an extra moby 50v and an extra V1 and i'm thinking about putting them together. could be fun but, i was looking for some feedback. it'd be nice to have a moby with an motor that had easier to get parts and more exhaust options and such. well, we'll see. it'll be a few days before i have my welder back.

Re: thinking about a minarelli V1 on a moby

how about you sell me the v1?

Re: thinking about a minarelli V1 on a moby

ive got a moby engine id trade for that v1 engine

Re: thinking about a minarelli V1 on a moby

strange.

Re: thinking about a minarelli V1 on a moby

well, guess i'll give it a shot, worse case is i mess up and old moby frame, best case, it'll be fun...

Re: thinking about a minarelli V1 on a moby

Yeah, man. Give it a go.

The only thing I can really see being a MAJOR issue is getting enough clearance on the drive sprocket. The Moby motor mounts so far forward as well, which would mean that your chain is going to be reeeaalll long. If you don't have to chop too much material out of get it to fit, then do it!

And post pics!

Re: thinking about a minarelli V1 on a moby

yeah,

i was messing with it yesterday and the sprocket doesn't look like it'll be a real prob. i will have to cut off the moby's engine spring mount to bring the engine as far back as possible. i'm wondering if i'll have to change the sprocket sizes though to get the best ratio, i don't know these things yet. does anyone know how far back the gas tank goes, does it go all the way to the seat post base?
