ok ok ok i went out and bought my new kinetic tfr i put an exaust on it and new variators an shit what should i do next and no guys there is no turbocharger or damn neons so please be nice this time
ps its bogging out and i adjusted the carb and it didnt help and info on how to fix it?
did you upjet when you put the pipe on? if so you are probably too rich... test this by taking the airbox off. if not you are too lean, test this by playing with the choke while riding.
the airbox is restricting you hardcore.
what do you mean you adjusted the carb?
what do you mean you got new variators and shit? tfrs dont have variators.
as far as next, (after you get it running right as is) i would up the compression to around 150psi and run premium. that will help the pipe work better and get you better bottom end. be careful not to go too far as i had alot of pinging issues.
after that get a 13mm carb
a genuine vespa kit... either performance or stock will be an upgrade.
learn to port the case and cut the crank.
convert to variated
thats about it... the last two are pretty in depth operations.
and get a turbo!
i must say its not every day somebody gets ragged on that hardcore about their scooter and shows up the next day with a real moped. kudos i guess.
also the next time you tell people to suck your dick you should expect to wash your hands of them, cause they usually wont help you after that.
I say give him one more chance. Does the Army punish ignorance? I can't help too much, cause I'm learning myself, but I would start with just a pipe and hi-flow air box, then get that jetting right (60's range jets, probably). Also, They say Kinetic clutches suck, so some Malossi pads will do you some good. does he know about treats?
Before you redid your profile didn't say you work on mopeds or something like that?
i wouldnt bother with clutch pads. if he's gonna put that much money and work into a kinetic he's gonna do the vespa drivetrain swap, which wont let him use the expensive pads he bought.
First off don't take the advice above. Read and search this forum like its your job. Find manuals for your bike, learn about two strokes. Learn how and why things change how your bike runs. Its allot, but your totally in to Venturi effects, intake duration and, compression ratios right?
What pipe did you put on it? Allot of pipes rob your low end. This maybe your "bogging down". Also what Variators? You mean clutch shoes? I think there are Kinetic Magnums that do have variators but I havn't seen one. Your best bet is to read and study up on your moped as much as you can. And know that anything you change needs to be balanced. You can't just slap a pipe on & expect it to work badass. Slap a pipe on get (or make) a high flow airbox and upjet slightly is more what you should do.
all right thanks for the info and yes i went with malossi clutch pads and i had an exaust with an expansion chamber, also i want to thank all the moped folks out there for there help and for giving me another chance.
i added a 16mm carb and removed the factory airbox and slapped just a filter on it with a couple of pipes to make it fit and it is no longer bogging down, so far my top speed is 40 but u guys are right idk how slow im going it is fun. what should i do next??
is that a picture of your moped? like that one is yours?
i want to know how you got a 16 mm carb on a stock kinetic...
that photo is off smittys website. I saw it yesterday. is this all just bullshit?
probably bs. id have bought a more reputable ped for the price of that kinetic (esp if he did buy i new.)
and i too would like to know 2 things: about how the 16mm carb and the "slapped just a filter on it with a couple of pipes to make it fit". pipes could mean he has reducers, but that would give the potential for massive airleaks and look janky as hell. this whole thing worries me. maybe gary's lil bro? he is a bro tho...
You can't even fit a 16 carb in that sub frame unless you rig the shit out of it, or chop the sub frame. Even if you do that its a 10mm intake cast into the case (or maybe 12mm I cant recall). And the pic is off Smitty's site Iv seen it too.
this guy is all bullshit.
This thread is done
dont forget to tighten your muffler belt!!
Its got a smittys sticker on it.
lol i have a feeling this is an actual mopedder just doing this for kicks.
FIRST OF ALL GUYS I NEVER SAID THE MOPED IN THAT PIC WAS MINE NOR DID I EVER SPECIFY THE COLOR OF MINE!!!!! ALL I SAID IS I BOUGHT A KINETIC TFR AND THAT I NEEDED HELP WITH INFO, THEN I LISTED SOME PARTS AS I DID THEM. MY BIKE NEEDS PAINT B4 I WILL TAKE A PIC OF IT BC IT HAS RUST SPOTS AND ITS FADED SO BACK OFF WITH THE INSULTS AND TRYING TO CORNER ME BC ALL OF THIS MESSAGE IS TRUE AND U KNOW IT! IF NOT RE READ THIS THREAD AND SEE THAT I NEVER SAID THAT MOPED IN THE PIC WAS MINE!
Either way this gives me ideas on how to do mine. Arent all TFR's red? I havent seen one in a different color. My engine is locked up so I might aswell get a stroker kits.
MINE IS BLUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
still, how in the world did you get a 16mm carb on there?
If its anything like a vespa moped, which it is, its impossible/impractical to put a 16mm carb on the stock case.
this is all bullshizzzzzzz.
16mm =/= vespa/kinetic cases.
there are no malossi cluch pads for variated vespa/piaggio.
Or you can say that there is no variated TFR. Either way, it smells like crap.
I retract my FIRST statement (6th post). Let 'em burn, for a little while at least.
Wow! this thread is more fun than the last one! Don't forget the chrome plated bumper bearings; I put some on my Tomos and now it does 53! (and that's in first gear!)
Dead thread!
Maybe he used his pipe stretcher to get it to fit.
I gotta go grease my Muffler Bearings.
I hear the chorme plated ones are better than the solid chrome ones; better heat dissapation in the afterburner section!
