It works!
If you take the right 2 magnets out it will run normally
however it will not power the lights.
The flywheel is noticably lighter and the bike feels much more responsive. The lag it takes to get the variator to lock up and the varplus to reach powerband is noticeably shorter and it accelerates quicker than I thought it would.
Make sure you do this to a spare flywheel though.
Also the flywheel has to be in good shape to handle the abuse of removing the magnets. The second one I tried had weak epoxy holding the magnet retaining ring and the whole ring seperated from the flywheel.
Be ready for a bit of a fight to get the magnets out I used
a cold chisle a heavy and a light hammer and a flathead screwdriver.
You have to remove the magnets that ARE NOT INLINE with the little welts that align into the cam!
These ones:

Make sure you get all of the bits of magnet out they could easily foul the points.
I wouldnt recommend this on a daily driven moby because of the lighting issue but on a built moby with a pipe this mod will help to shorten the time to get into the powerband.
