Just order a 70cc people's kit

My bike has been really slow since I got it. New DelOtorro carb (15 or 16 don't remember) and a boss pipe. I'm trying to do this on the cheap(ish).

Messed with the jetting today and it's a little faster still kinda slow (<30) and I'm kinda drunk plus just got a student loan so I bought a 70cc kit from treats.

What else should I know/consider before slapping this shit together?

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

uh, dont run it full throttle till u break it in. rejet?

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

Noob question (well aside from the running it in): Which way should I go with the jet to start? Smaller or larger?

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

Don’t slap it together. Aluminum is a soft metal but its still pretty hard that shit will hurt if slapped, these kits do much better when thrown, so throw it for sure, not a toss or a chuck, but a good throw, oh yeas for real... always let it warm up real good before blasting or she might just seize of mess up ring, also do a search and champfer your ports.

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

larger jet. around 70 i'd assume havent seen the peoples kit..

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

I'm running a 62 (this is on my puch, should have said) and I'm in Abq so we're at about 5000 feet, for what it's worth. Checked the spread sheet. Might be good to include altitude in it.

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

I was wondering about this kit also. Do you need to case match? Should I maybe start with the 50cc first?

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

I throw my kits overhand but some people say underhand is safer.

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

I was thinking shot-put style to make sure it mashes on there real well.

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

I throw most of my kits with a catapault, but thats mostly just because I am old fashion.

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

always case match always! no matter what event the stock cylender should be case matched

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

I am running an 87 jet with a 19 mm carb.

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

I ran the athena 70 kit which is kinda similar rin a 78 jet for an entire tankful it will somoke like crazy bu that's the point. then downjet till your plugchop looks right (wikisearch: plug chop)

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

 GotSpark /

Im running a 70cc Kstar (with some port work) with a 21phbg and I think i run a 45 idle and 92 main.

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

So you put the carb and pipe on, and you're doing less than 30? I'd get your bike running well with the setup you've got before you throw a kit on it. Not only will it be good practice for jetting and tuning with much lower stakes than possibly seizing a new $100 kit, you'll also be removing variables for why it doesn't run right later. Do plug chops and get it tuned, make sure you don't have any air or exhaust leaks, double check chain tension and make sure your wheels spin freely (repack the wheel bearings if you're feeling ambitious).

When you do kit it: definitely go larger. Have you read the stuff here? I'd read over that and make sure you understand it before you put a kit on.

Re: Just order a 70cc people's kit

^ larger on the JET. I should have specified that.
