hello all,
i just bought this kit and i managed to break the top piston ring. I need to get new ring but that might be hard. I know some people say that it is better to replace the piston by a Metrakit of Airsal piston. I would like to know if anyone has done this here and if it makes a big difference because ?? because it might be easier to get a metrakit piston then finding a new gilardoni piston or the ring. Or maybe if some of you know of an other piston that could be even better.

These guys might have the ring you need. But you should call them and ask. The websites dont always have everything listed that they have in stock.
I just tracked your package and it says it's still in transit.
How did you break the ring before it arrived?
I will let you know if an extra ring shows up in our shop as well.
ahh i got the box this morning and i opened it and i just turned the piston as i was pulling it out of the cylinder and the ring hooked in a port and snapped. bad luck or silly handling...
do you know if it is true that you have to replace the piston by a Metrakit of Airsal piston, because the original piston isn't suitable for right-turning engines because of the un-centered piston-pin.

80 Metrakit piston ring is all you need.
as of the last production run, gilardoni used metra pistons anyways.
get a metra 80 ring youll be fine.

yup. they put the booster holes in themself.
either that or somebody did that to me with a metra piston. but i doubt it.

Wow, $90 for a piston. What a jackass. I bought two from Benji at $45 each. Yes, they were the original Gila pistons as well.
