Re: peugeot kits?

I have a couple airsal kits but have not put them on my bikes yet. 46mm. I sell them and have 4 peugeots to put them on.

I will be doing the TSM first and I have a polini pipe for it also I will let you know but heard they are screamers

my tsm will blast your tsm ffred...someday.

Re: peugeot kits?

hmmm Pug Kits:

Polini.....My guess at the best. W port....mmm

Gila.....Super sick fast kit...ask will...but if I can remember right I've heard a few seizure stories

Malossi....Probably all around most reliable kit. but with the right porting...kill your gila, or at least we'll see after my malossi is tuned up.

Parma....Motobrokane swore by the parma mbcne kit...again I've never seen one roll on a pug.

Airisal....Never seen either, curious to hear about what ffreddie is cooking up. Don't hesitate to buy through him. I have a couple times and it's always been great.

I don't claim to know all about pug kits, I've only had a polini and a Malossi.

I say look at the transfers and match your case and a huge intake and carb will make all the difference that your kit doesn't. Malossi transfers are wicked that's why I chose to get one. Malossi 50cc GR1 Polygon FTW!

Re: peugeot kits?

the airsal I have is 46mm, 2 ring piston with 3 port windows on the intake side. cylinder has the W shapped 3rd transfer port and 2 standard transfer ports. so the kit has the oval exhaust port, a "W" shapped transfer port and 2 standard design transfer ports. rumor has it that it makes about 8hp

could use some port cleaning

Re: peugeot kits?

polini is the best.

Re: peugeot kits?

LC 50cc malossi works very well with a doppler pipe, I'm just using a 16mm phbg and variotop and 11x59 (might go to 11x56) gearing and a doppler pulley. The 50 keeps up with most of the kids in town with no problem and actually wraps out much better then my 70cc malossi ever did even with porting work done to it. The split window exhaust on the kit is amazing, it alloys the kit to pull up and over 12,000 rpm (that pinned the tach I was using). I would pretty much put the 50cc LC malossi at the top of my list of favorite kits I've ran so far. (Polini 70cc W, Malossi 70cc LC). Warning, the kit needs alot of rpms to do anything! With the tach I had it really doesn't pull until 7500 to 8000 rpm, and if isn't setup right makes you stock cylinder look fast.

Re: peugeot kits?

so.. you want the lowdown....

ive researched this a lot, on french sites. and, well, any kitted 3 port peugeot kit will likely blast any puch.

gilardoni, and parma 80 i have had.... both are seemingly awesome.

the french sites speak highly of the polini also.

the athena kit looks pretty rad personally, i just didnt want to wait for a special order. but the athena polygonal kit... yeahhh.

there are tons of more amazing older kits, but you cant buy them anymore.

the bad thing about the gilardoni is the small side ports with the malossi case...its hard to have a smooth transfer. but the design is awesome.

parma 80. sweet.

by the way having a TSM doesnt make it faster... actually makes it slower.. hmm.

by the way, TSAs are cooler.

imported.

ouch.

Re: peugeot kits?

Actually having a top tank gives you +5mph because the gas is higher and more gravity forces more gas into the carb thats a fact.

Re: peugeot kits?

The polini is un-touchable.

Re: peugeot kits?

dang maybe i should just put a top tank on my 103 instead of a kit

Re: peugeot kits?

I bet my little 50 might touch it.. or come close ;-)

my tsm will blast your tsa andrew...someday. im actually sad to see you sell your parmakit. i was hoping to go head to head someday with an identical setup.

Re: peugeot kits?

i just didnt want to have a setup that i needed to overbore the case. thats all. theres tons of great 70 kits, i wanted to be able to change at some point...

the parma is sweet though. i sold it to cupertom. hes putting it on a rigid, so, i expect him to be damn fast as well , then crash.

we can still go head to head. drag race style. sometime. will is a testament to the gilardoni, everyone says it, and its true.

erin creature has a parma 80. and only a handfull of others... 3 of which are in the bay area atleast, so youll get a chance eventually... no one else has a clutch pulley with it it seems though.

oh yeah. +5mph, hm. maybe it adds some top end. but you lose some low end from the weight also...neither of which are that noticeable probably.

p.s. if benji ever decides to work on his TSM it will be the fastest.

Re: peugeot kits?

Gilardoni seems pretty awesome. lots of power and pretty much bulletproof based on my own experience and what I've heard from others. definitely requires a pipe to get the most out of it. I'm using the G3 and it gets up in the mid 50's easily (gps) with a 15:15 SHA and a high comp (15:1) head.

Re: peugeot kits?

i'd love to hear more from anyone who has tried one of those airsal kits.

i'm looking at installing my very first kit and i'm a budget conscious fellow. my moped doesn't run and frankly if i'm gonna tear the case open and replace the seals etc

Re: peugeot kits?

i just bought the vintage cast-iron polini that was on ebay. any idea which circlips work with that one?

Re: peugeot kits?

Should be stock size.

Re: peugeot kits?

awesome, thanks bret.... i'll be looking out for your mobys.

Re: peugeot kits?

What are the thoughts of a 70cc malossi with the malossi case?

Re: peugeot kits?

Will you pug's gonna blast.

This next season's gonna be variated shit all over the place.

The year of the french.

Re: peugeot kits?

yay will's pug will be about the 2nd or the 3rd fastest variated bike in kzoo behind a couple of wet ones

Re: peugeot kits?

my tsm will blast your tsm.... and it runs

Re: peugeot kits?

pfft my 103 will blast all your heavy ass shit TSMs

Re: peugeot kits?

Will, the malossi kit is very fast, and much more reliable then the polini.

Polini= 1 super-skinny ring, rails and transfer ports everywhere, fast as balls, super broad power band from the W shaped exhaust port.

Malossi= 2 nice standard sized rings, bridged transfers, big intake, big exhaust. Much more reliable, but still super fast.

I haven't tuned my polini bike for the cold weather, and miguel's malossi bike is keeping up with/sometimes passing me right now.

Re: peugeot kits?

how about this bike I just got, waiting for it to come in

Re: peugeot kits?

Reflecting from Erics statements I would like to say; It is nice to be riding along w/o being on the edge of your saddle wondering when you are going to blow up again. Maybe someone could re-engineer the Polini by latheing a wider ring groove in the piston and fitting a fatter ring.

Re: peugeot kits?

Me? I'd buy the Malossi

Re: peugeot kits?

well, if they are the same diameter you could try just putting the malossi piston in the polini.

Re: peugeot kits?

And thats what I call genius
