I've got a '75 Garelli Eureka Flex with a polini 70, and 11/42 gear ratio, everything else stock..including exhaust...and yes i know i should've gotten exhaust first but i didn't.... I've read a lot about Techno Boss and was going to get one off Treats, but then i saw this garelli VIP simonini on Treats and was woundering which was better? I can hack and weld so any exhaust will work. Thanks
Simonini is OK.... but I think you should try the techno boss first. Also, get rid of that 42 tooth sprocket and get at least a 30 if you want speed.
Cool. I don't care thaaaat much about speed because I live in VA and hills are common in these parts, so i need some low end...but i do like going fast. right now i'm pulling around 35 mph and still manage hills pretty good.
So would it be better to gear for low end (9/42) and get a top end pipe (boss), or gear for top end (11/42 or 11/30) and get a low end pipe?

In a purely theoretical regard it would be a wash. The boss would probably have enough low to midrange to keep you happy then play with the sprockets to suit your taste
