How much compression are you still getting?

My Puch polini is only getting 130 with a new ring, high comp head, no gasket, and old piston after some serious abuse. Until now never had a compression tester so not sure what it was to start.

What is everyone getting from their kits when they're new? And has it significantly dropped after a thousand plus miles?

Re: How much compression are you still getting?

If it runs great, why fret what compression you are getting?

Remember reading that some people have gotten over 200 with the same set-up. More than satisfied and it does run great after all the abuse it has taken. Just seems that the compression should be higher with a new ring.

Re: How much compression are you still getting?

Your compression will get better once your ring is worn enough to actually seal all the way... You have to break it in again... Unless of course you already broke it in...

Bump because I shamelessly posted my compression.

is a higher compression setup more prone to seizing? or am i completely bonkers?

Re: How much compression are you still getting?

low heat dissipation and high tolerances while running lean are a good recipie for seizing, while a higher compression setup --if kept in check-- can be prone to have higher power output.

Re: How much compression are you still getting?

5 kicks and 138 psi

Re: How much compression are you still getting?

I thought around 130 was good for kits. I also think someone once told me that polini's specifically have low compression
