Dude , thats normal . it looks like a hole but its just a rough casting . It does actually go threw to the bearing that isn't lubricated by tranny fluid . The hole should be cleaned up and shaped to a make air/fuel/oil flow threw it and be indicative to good air flow for maximum lubrication of that bearing . If that makes any sence to you ? Also dont reshape the port totally or anything . Just really clean and smooth the edges of the hole .
