Polini Peugeot Variator - whats the deal

So I got my peugeot TSM build running, and I'm using the Polini variator, but I'm thinking about switching to a NOS stock variator but just using the Polini weights. The thing is, I don't really see what the point of the extra front plate is, other than to add those side forks which I guess are stronger than the plastic insert. But is it really worth the extra weight for that? Is the plastic insert not strong enough? The thing is I had to drill holes to mount that Polini outer plate and I think its a little off center and causing vibration which is dangerous.

Re: Polini Peugeot Variator - whats the deal

that thing is no better than stock. unless you crash and fall and you break your variator, then stick to stock with polini weights.

Re: Polini Peugeot Variator - whats the deal

Sigh, sucks I wasted some money on that but at least I have a shiny new 103SPX variator to put on, I'll add the polini weights to that.

Re: Polini Peugeot Variator - whats the deal

a worthy backup. don't be bummed.
