How many had hondapa50 cranks last with big mods?

Hi I would like to highly modify my Honda pa 50. I would like to hear how many of you have modified one of these motors and not had problems with cranks breaking. I don't know if it makes sense to put all this money in to it just to have risks of crank breaking very soon. Please give me an idea how long you have used your modified moped with no problems. I would like to know where they normally break.Also I would be interested in ways to make stock crank stronger. Maybe welding,adding braces,cryo treatments etc. This doesn't have to be just Honda either. Thanks

I put over 3000 hard hard miles on my kitted bike with RPMs exceeding 8500 and speeds of 55mph. mine never broke, but maybe i was just lucky!

I've seen three hobbit shear crankshafts at the variator in less than a few hundred miles.

3000 plus kitted miles.

No crank trouble yet, though I'm prepared.

Unbelvable amount of hard kitted miles with no problems. Rpms and power are not the issuess with Honda cranks, but if you ever drop the bike on the variator side then you have already sighned your cranks death warent

So if my crank is good now, I should not have any problems for a while? I plan on doing what I can to make it last. I was going to straighten crank, replace bad bearings etc. Also I was going to send it out for cryo treatment. I don't know how much it will help but it's not very much extra. There's a place here in town that does it for 2-3 dollars a pound. They freeze it way down for days.They then heat it up in a oven to temper it. It's supposed to make the metal stronger by aligning the metal all in the same direction. You can't do rubber seals because of the oven stage so I don't know if bearings are ok to do yet. I have to check that out. Thanks

I am seriously trying to figure out a way to build some kind of slide bar or something for my hobbit. I know if I use it for the race series that I will fall and there is a good possibility of damage happening to the crank.
