I just got my hi comp head from
treats, and I noticed that the head did not come with a gasket. Is the head made to be used without a gasket or would it be wise to run the head with a gasket?

Oh yeah and this is on a a55 with a a35 cylinder
always better without a gasket if possible (no piston hitting the plug) wet sand head and cylinder interface and the use some type of gasket goo like copper hight temp RTV or spray on copper.
Really, why is it better to run your engine without a gasket.they are there for a reason right?
if you running the stock cylinder than run a stock head gasket.
if you tighten it properly you might need a gasket. gasket are a good way to insure that you get an complete seal. i find that the head can run without a gasket tho.
same dilemna here. just got my hi hi comp head for my 64cc polini. it sounds like i should use the atv sealant, and sand down the plug and piston. will sanding the piston affect anything. is it possible to use the polini gasket if need be.
if you can get a good seal without a head gasket, you will have higher compression.
if you sand the top of your cylinder and the bottom of your head and use some type of gasket compound and properly torque it down, you shouldn't need to use the thicker paper/metal gaskets.
Hell na it's on a 70cc a35 alukit
It also turns out that the studs on an A55 is an m6 on the top And a m7 on the bottom. Kinda pissed that I ordered m6 studs. Fuckin more time to wait. :(I
I ran that head on a 65 metrakit with no headgasket I used an anarobic sealer and had no leakage issues. It did make compression a bit higher than my motor liked. Had some serious detonation on hot days. I acctually went back to the stock head with better luck.
NO gaskets FTW!
and I prefer to run head gaskets, just face the cylinder down or the head down enough that you can run a head gasket and still achieve your desired compression ratio. you could also run a copper o-ring type seal if you want... but that is more work. Anyways a good quality head gasket or sealing mechanism generally provides a longer lasting maintenance free seal. But if your someone that like your top end apart all the time it's probably easier to run no head gasket. I'm to lazy for that, anyways good luck!

But if your someone that likes to take your top end apart all the time it
i dont really need to get in to my top end that mutch right now anyway.im focusing on my intake and exhaust right now. porting later on. any good brands of gasket paper to use?
I run 1 head gasket and three base gaskets. The piston was hittin the head with one, it wasn't with two.. but i added a third base gasket cause i thought it was still hitting, but it wasn't... maybe i should take one base off..
