Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

In the description it says from 83 on, but it also says its for the prima series, which is what the sachs parts are listed under at 50cc.nl. I'm trying to figure out if this pipe would work, as there are always a couple up on nazi-bay. Might be worth the shipping if its just a straight bolt on made for a 505.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

yeah bandit maggie rocks that pipe on her commuter.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

I guess the Gianelli is mad rare over here stateside. Pick it up for shits and giggles.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

all hercules primas came with a 505 engine whether it was a prima 1-5 or an s model. so it will bolt up to any 505 engine

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

Good to know, now if I could get one of these SOBs to ship it, that would be awesome. There is a due who has close to like 10000 ebay sales and just a ton of awesome old sachs/hercules stuff, that uber clutch I have had my eye on, 3 or four of these giannellis, but he straight up will not ship to America. I have been begging him for like weeks, pestering him to no end, even offered to forgive him for that whole genocide thing, no dice. Sigh.

...waiting for spring.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

Hey if you get that pipe there's two things to be aware of...one, you are going to four stroke at the top, it just does, the pipe is known for that. and two, if your bike is like mine, it will shake itself loose from the added power. I (er, nate bandit) had to drill a hole through one of the cylinder fins and attach a spring which was then hooked on to a little circle that we welded on to the pipe. That way it won't wiggle itself off. The little clamp that comes with the Gianelli is not enough, it actually broke off after the first time the pipe wiggled itself off and I tried to reattach it. That being said...it's totally worth it and you should get it.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

Mine cracked all to hell. I re-welded it and put in a brace to firm it all up, and made a mount that bolts to the engine case. I also welded a washer to it, and have a spring between the pipe and my cylinder.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

Did you guys get yours through giannelli, or how? Can't you just down jet if you are four stroking at the top? I want to get one fr sher but no one on nazi-bay will ship to America. Is there a contact at giannelli, like an American distributor?

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

please stop calling it nazi-bay.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

Yeah Mike, that's exactly what I did, works like a charm now. Before everytime I heard any change in the volume of my bike I would think "oh fuck, here we go again, the pipe's falling off," but now it's good.

I got mine from '77 they were selling one months ago. I got the only one at the time.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

Yeah. I had the same problem with mine too. Mounting bolt broke right off. I have seen those mounting springs mods on many sachs pipes, and they seem to work real sweet. I love how the pipe sounds, and loved the mid range power, but honestly didn't think the pipe added much for the top end at all. I have come to like the stock pipes that came on the Eagle II's. The large header pipe, with the longer style black back piece. Not the shorty black back though...not nearly as good. I say pick one up if you have the money, they sound so SWEET!! If you end up not liking it, someone will buy it from you no problemo.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

Haha, I know that, "uh oh, my pipes about to fall off" feeling, your just hoping and praying your pipe doesn't get squished by some bus or something behind you.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

Have you actually contacted them? I sent them some "Hey sell me that shit" e-mails/questions, in both german and english, no dice though. Maybe they haven't gotten around to it, but that was like a week ago. I specifically remember them having that "international seller" mural and being like score, then slowly being like, god dammit, they aren't gonna do it.

Re: Anyone ever used this sachs pipe?

it was either the gianelli or try modding the peugot leovince to a sachs. the gianelli ended up costing the same with shipping as what treats was selling the leovince. i decided to try a gianelli, always wanted one. they look sick. thanks for the spring tip! i will do this before i ride it. i found with the stock pipes, it is a good idea to put gasket silicone around the exhuast flange for a better seal. i will do this with the gianelli too.
