Breaking kitted 'ped in winter, tips/advice needed

(Casserollers) Gregory B. /

For those of out there who live up north who can't go out and ride all season... a question...

Has anyone ever made some sort of dyno/something/whatever to break in your kitted moped without moving? Something indoors that someone has rigged up?

If anyone has ever made something before, let me know. It'd be interesting to see if anyone has ever rigged something up.

Parking garage sound good for CT.

Re: Breaking kitted 'ped in winter, tips/advice ne

Take off the rear wheel and run it in a storage shed?

Re: Breaking kitted 'ped in winter, tips/advice ne

300 miles in a parking garage would suck lol.

Re: Breaking kitted 'ped in winter, tips/advice ne

when i was 14 a wasnt allowed to ride my top tank targa lx when my parents were out of town, they would check odometer before they left, what i would do was ride it any way then put front wheel on a treadmill in reverse. It would take off the miles i had put on. I would rig it so the front tire would just stay there then come back like 15-20 minutes later. any way you might could just ride on top of an old tread mill

Re: Breaking kitted 'ped in winter, tips/advice ne

dude, treadmill backwards is fucking hilarious. why didnt you just disconnect the cable? hahaha/.

how about a tunnel? or mall. dont just run it on the stand it will overheat and blow up, the fins are there for a reason.

how about taking your ped to a construction site? watch out for nails!

Re: Breaking kitted 'ped in winter, tips/advice ne

toughen up! ride outside anyways. you live up north you know how to drive on snow/ice!

i hope my advice works. because i just ordered a new polini piston and a hi hi compression head for my puch. i live at 10,000ft in colorado, and as you could probably guess, lots of snow. we'll see how my plan works out.

Re: Breaking kitted 'ped in winter, tips/advice ne

if you aren't gonna ride in the winter why bother? just wait till spring anyway. it doesn't take long to break in a kit.

Re: Breaking kitted 'ped in winter, tips/advice ne

dude, you can disconnect the speedo cable in like 2 seconds and the numbers won't change...

Re: Breaking kitted 'ped in winter, tips/advice ne

Heat cycle in the garage w/ a fan blowing across the cylinder and the exhaust routed out side.

Drain and park it till spring.
