hobbit plug chop/read help

So here's a shot of my new plug with recently re-jetted 70cc Athena, stock carb-82 main, stock intake and air filter and Leo Vince exhaust.

When I first installed the kit I ran a clone carb with a main jet drilled to about 85. With the filter in it would crap out past 1/4 throttle. Removing the airfilter it went like a rocket. I wanted to run with the air filter so I went back to the original carb and used an 82 main. It runs great but I'm a little paranoid about running lean.

The plug actually looks a little darker than it appears in this picture. Any thoughts?

Kinda cappuccino like.

Re: hobbit plug chop/read help

That's likely nearly right. You did not take a picture of the proper part of the plug. You need to look down at the base of the porcelin to get the true read.

Re: hobbit plug chop/read help

Thanks. I'll give a look to the base.

Re: hobbit plug chop/read help

Looks lean to me.

I would go up a couple of jet sizes and work down until it runs clean.

Re: hobbit plug chop/read help

upjet imo.

Re: hobbit plug chop/read help

Not a true plug chop but here's another shot after 20 minutes of a ride cut short because of my leaking gas tank.

Re: hobbit plug chop/read help

upjet.

that looks pretty good to me.

Re: hobbit plug chop/read help

I think it looks just fine. What oil ratio are you running?

Re: hobbit plug chop/read help

About 32-36:1, synthentic blend.... Golde Spectro oil

Re: hobbit plug chop/read help

that is lean @ 50:1

30:1 is probably alright, just don't go screaming down a hill and then shut the throttle closed - easy way to stick if you dont have a good sized pilot jet idle jet
