dellorto on a 505-1a

i've heard that dellorto SHA's work on the 505-1a. i was considering doing that, but i've tried to figure out how all the different sizes come into play. My engine is stock, and the exhaust is stock too. should i do something other than getting a new carb first? and also, could somebody explain the sizing for carbs and intakes for me? (i feel really stupid right about now)

thanks

first what you should do is evaluate your priorities for the ped, meaning how fast do you want to go? if you're looking to go like, 30-35 then you might do well to just get an expansion chamber for it. since the sachs exhaust is a 2 piece, the easiest is to get a 2 piece bi-turbo. you might have to do some slight fab work (welding) but if you do that plus remove the stock air filter, you might get up to 30-35 flat.

if you have the stock bing carb, its probly a 12 mm. the intake is either a 12 or a 14 mm. if you want to step up to a del 15.15 you can make the stock intake work, but it takes some work.

on how to put a del on a sachs. good luck!

i was just thinking that if i got a new exhaust that i would have to up-jet...but you cant get jets for the square bing. so should i just get them both?
