So this happened to my vespa 70cc Olympia kit. Not sure how...anyone got any ideas, or if I can still use this kit?
no scoring in the cylinder, just broke off a chunk of the sleeve...that chunk was not in the engine...it dissapeared.
looks like its no new break. It should be fine.
clean out / check your exhaust to make sure it's not in there. You don't want it to accidentally bounce back up.
seen polini's like that b4 urs looks minimal u can probably run it still
Smooth it, chamfer it, run it. It should run fine.
Eric
yeah yr fine. run it.
The cylender skirt is not imperitive to the engines survival.
its all good.
i would probably have cut off most of that material before running it anyhow :)
that shit looks a little restricted. open up those transfers buddy. its a fuckin 70!!!
I am totally amazed this didn't do any damage. You are so lucky. Just for drill though I would run a magnet in the case or on the outside moving it to the opening to see if you get anything.
Did you have to grind out the cases by hand to make them big enough to fit the sleeve?
If that fit between the sleeve and cases was to tight and things were expanding and contracting it could put pressure on the sleeve and crack it.
yer fine.
I'm running something similar and it's fine, just a little extra chatter.
Wow, Thanks everyone for the input over the holiday.
I didn't have to grind out the case to get it to fit, but I'll look at how snug it is. Also, some transfer work is in the works for a winter project, thanks heather.
