as far as stock puch top ends go, which is better for performance? i'm guessing the korado top end is better simply because it is newer, but the magnum puts out 3.5 hp stock or 4hp with the intake derestricted. then again i'm guessing the korado has way bigger transfers and it has the stock boost ports. anyone know differences in intake and exhaust port size between the two? or just which is better?

Korado cylinder = win
Intake needs to be opened, but the transfers are very nice and you've got those cute little boost ports. It blows away several 50cc aftermarket cylinders.
The 17mm carb/intake setup that comes factory on the Mag-X is the cause behind its increased output; the cylinder itself is nothing special.
so then the korado has smaller intake and exhust ports, but better everything else?
Let me clarify further...
The stock cylinder on a Magnum X should not even be in the same conversation as a Korado cylinder.
The stock jawn on a Mag-X is typical Magnum fare. Once again, the carb/intake setup is what propels its high HP rating.
The Korado's transfers and exhaust port are larger. I don't know offhand how the intake ports compare, but it's really irrelevant. Korado is the better cylinder.
i understand, but if 2 more HP is added just by the intake on the magnum x i just wanted to know what size intak and carb the korado came with and what size the intake is on the cylinder
The Korado came with a Bing which is marked externally as an 18mm, but in reality has an inside diameter of 14mm.
I used a Korado cylinder with no porting, a regular 14 Bing off a Pinto, and a Simonini pipe to the tune of 47.6 mph GPS on 18x40 gearing. They are that legit.

The issue with my maxi was the clutch. I had to take the super clutch out and replace it with a cheap three shoe with stiff springs to get it to slip. The super clutch was just way to heavy. I am going to have to lighten it up a lot.
