It's gonna be better than stock... I say for 40 bucks it's worth a shot.
I have one. they are really cute, kind of like a toy. craftsmanship looks pretty good. based on the header length, should be a top end engagement pipe. stay tuned, but at that price, how can you say no??
Cute is the exact right word to describe it. Good quality, 2/3 size of normal pipes. If you liked the Muppet Babies, this is kind of the same concept.
I'd be interested in knowing what kind of top-end it added to anyone's setup. I'll take huge and ugly but with performance gains over cute :)
If you got money get a tecno estoril... rad pipe. If you want cheap, you need to get this...
Badmopo, I think you are seriously underestimating how cute this pipe is. Everyone wanted to hold it last night at Moped Monday, at least a few tried to take it home with them. Super cute. Cutest pipe for the dollar.
that and everyone wanted to play it like a horn. seriously, at least six people blew a ton of spit into my pipe, i hope that = a performance gain
Second that. I mean, that thing is cute. Cutest pipe I 've ever seen. Girls take note; if you could get some styling cues from this pipe you could get laid by the dream boys in your lives
Stud spacing was a little tight so had to dremel out a bit. the frame mount is a little off the correct angle too. sounds fast and crisp and looks so cute
zoom zoom!
snorkel and cruddy clogged up stock pipe removed, cute pipe and upjet from 57 to 62 installed, speed gain = 7mph at least, maybe more, still a bit lean on the jetting. too bad jetting is such a pain on the A3s! the old pipe was really clogged so probably a new stock pipe would have resulted in big gains as well, it was barely hitting 28 when we got it.
i was also curious about performance on a stock A3... mine usually do about 33-35ish on stock/stock/stock with the head gasket removed and the core pulled out of the pipe, jetted at 54 or 56. it would be nice to get these into the upper 30's for 40 bucks.
that and vespa ciaos.. do you think they would work well on a ciao? not much for mounting options, but i'd like to get that thing into the low 30's at least.
The pipe even sounds cute!
Remember; it's not the size of the pipe; but where you get to put it. But seriously folks; have you had a look at the GoPed pipes? I have a GoPed Riot and the DDM Dominator pipe is smaller than this one, and the stinger is in the middle of the expansion chamber. The header is only about 6 inches long. Also I was looking at the Trevor Simpson reed valve intake, and it has a "crank pulse inlet pipe" on it. Anybody know what they are talking about?
probably for a pumper carb, i.e. walboro or tillotson.
and yeah, it is the size of the pipe. those pocketbike pipes can yield some amazing topend on the right setup but they suck balls on the low end.
how do this bolt up to an a3? I'm after some speed, but would rather putt along at 30 than hack and weld and rejet a thousand times....I've got mono too and don't have the strength
Yes its on a Walbro setup. My pipe is will do wheelies from the getgo on up to 45MPH. Gear ratio 7-76. 46cc engine.
I had mono and was kind of over it and then dropped some acid and had a relapse. Take it easy
i want a cutey pipe for my peugeot
