I see that there is nothing for performance available at all for this poor thing infact I think finding anything for it is going to be rough
its gona end up a boat anchor :-(
I wonder why the puchs did so well & stuf like the FA50 just went extinct?

Puch is a company that relied on its mopeds, suzuki had tons of other things on the line to buy.
simple as demand.
FA50's arent exactly built to withstand speed either.

They sold a lot of those. They were 299.00 new. Brad Johnsen up here had one that he massaged the porting, cheesy little exp pipe and high compression. I liked it, totally minimal and it went fast. I'd like to tweak one
don't you EVER call the fa50 a boat anchor. it's what i have, it's what i'm pouring all my cash into, and by the time i'm done with it, it'll be up there with the best. i know everything i need to do to get it to top out at around 90 km/h, so don't call it a fuggin' boat anchor.
I like these little dudes. It would be a serious wheelie machine if you could find a bigger bore cylinder for it... I recently picked up a seized one, but complete for 50 bucks that I will get to eventually.
My goal is to make it Zach's loaner for our next rally... :) He's a beast of a man and would be awesome on one of these...
they have great parts availability i know that most parts can be gotten from Suzuki (including a kit). their trannies r spring loaded (aka a pain) i avoid any fa or fz 50 with a messed up tranny.

Im not getting a whole bike just the engine with no electronics or carb which is siezed
in this context it may not be worth it for me to use it
as well for what Im doing a trans output with a chain is better for me so thus the remark

that performance exhaust won't do you any good unless you have a speed kit, the power band's higher than the fa50's stock top speed.
not really some fa 50s do 35 stock. this is pretty rare but i have heard of it. i still think the biturbo is an excellent top end pipe that is cheap and has bad quality.
I have a fa50 and a puch the fa has been sitting for a while, but when i was riding it it would do 30-35mhp as far as I know its stock
My FA50 has the simo pipe on it. I've lightly worked on the exhaust port and sanded down the head. Lost only a tad bit of low end and now I average 60km/h on flats.....until I 4 stroke.
