This will be my first kit and I'd like to be able to tune it easily. I'm trying to decide between the 65cc Metrakit and the 70cc K-Star. Which kit and carb to go with would you recommend? I've got a Maxi E50 with a Tecno Boss.

im thinking about the same thing. i think im going wit the 65 metra 19mm PHBG dellorto carb and 70cc high compression head. im taking my stock exhaust header from a tomos and using that as my intake

i would say get the mk65 and pair it with a 19 phbg (with matching intake of course) and a 50cc hc head

On the metrakit you can run into detonation problems if you don't use enough base gaskets and a 50cc high comp head.

The K-star kit has one ring and the Metra has two. I would think the Metra wold last longer? I have riden Metra kitted bikes that have been seized several times and still rip. My friend just installed a K-star kit and it doesn't perform nearly as well as the Metra. They are all cheaply made kits so I would just spend the extra and get the Metra or buy something quality.

metras are cast iron, and the others arent ( the cylinders )
They will take a way harder core beating.
But i suggest you buy a cheepo depot kit. More metras for me.

Buy the k-star. Its cheaper and more torquey. If you break it, a new piston is like $25.

my kstar is blasting a good friends metra (off the line and top speed).
I would love to get my hands on a metra and have a lot of fun with it, they have a lot of potential, but so far my k-star has give nothing but smiles.

metras are much more noob-friendly. almost impossible to break. if you do go with a metra-phgb buy the intake from treats.. dont fuck around with that header shit.. airleaks are the number one cause of fried kits among noobz.
