Hi.. I just bought this Ciao.
The motor is not locked up. But the coil looks bad. Should I just buy a new one? as well as the carb. it looks bad too.
Can I just buy a bigger carb to make it a little more zippy?
Or should I put a kit on it? I don't really wanna do a kit if its going to blow up or something. If anyone has experience they can share I would really be in debt to you.

Advice: get it running before doing anything else to it. Then ride it around to get a feel for what you like and dislike about it. This will help you understand it better, and what you specifically want to improve, before you dive into the world of performance upgrades.
If your are getting spark you don't need a coil. If you are getting mixture you don't need a carb. Plus the ciao carb is like the best protected carb next to the pa50, so unless its extensively rotten on the inside, you should be good. Just clean clean clean that biotch, but be very sensitive to the gaskets. Don't buy anything performance wise until you get it running right.
and once you do get it running...
use this as a checklist,
spark?
fuel in float bowl?
carb clean?
jet clean?
if you got all that and it still ain't working it might be timing or compression. and that's where the real fun/crying/drinking/fun begins.

I think I messed up the carb man handleing it trying to get it off. but it looks like a new 13mm. is not too expensive.
I think I messed up that spring that attaches to the cable.
Are you saying to get that pollini pipe? do you know if I can re jet my carb to make it work?

custom. but since about 10 people on this whole forum do that. depends some pipes are for bottom end, some for top, and some are in the middle. it really depends when u want the power band to hit. really get it running. if your cylinder is messed up beyond repair there are 2 options, either get a stock one (cheaper and easier, slower) or get a kit (more expensive, harder, less reliable and faster). i would only kit if you plan on doing so down the road any way and have a good base of mechanical knowledge (like this is a circle clip ect.).
