Starting to modify a Peugeot 103.

So I just aquired a 1978 peugeot 103 SP. Sadly not the cvt version. :-(

I want it to be faster. I understand that displacement comes first. Then you can start to work on the rest of the induction and exhaust system.

Off the bat, what's the most economical way of going 70cc? I did find one kit for $72 on 50cc.nl. Every other kit is $150 on up.

How much do oversized pistons cost? How far can you bore the stock cylinder? Does anyone have a cylinder to sell?

At what point do you start looking for a bigger carb?

What sort of gearing is stock on the bike? Is it already doing 10,000 rpm at 30mph? How far should I go on gearing with a goal of 55mph top speed?

What are the current best choice in tires?
