Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

I'm to the point where i'm looking for a pipe now.

How's the G3? got any suggestions?

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

will that even mount to a 7???? i don't think so... ask eric sabitino of the puddle cutters

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

I imagine i'd have to modify it, description says it mounts an av7...the 7's av7 has some differences though...hmm, thanks! i'll ask

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

7 is not variated. do what ever you want to it!

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

my 20mph moby does 31-32 with the Ninja G3 & dellorto carb. You'll lose your kickstand though.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

That pipe will not fit on that bike at all, the header is bent the wrong direction and would also hit the ground on a 7. The motor is hard-ish mounted to the bike but not hard enough that a normal hard mounted pipe would work, check out the engine when you ride, moves around quite a bit. a peugeot might be closer to the header bend that you need but still will need modification to clear the ground.

wow, it does move around quite a lot.

thanks for the tip, I'll look around and see what I can find

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

Yeah, i would look into Peugeot as well, but nothing is really going to work properly. A Peugeot one will likely just drag on the ground. They kick down really low.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

I am going to try this pipe on my moby.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

That would probably be a better choice.....

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

what is that pipe fred?

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

looks sick. you putting it on a 7?

if so, let me know how it works out!

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

That pipe is terrible (it's basically a stock pipe) and won't even come close to fitting a seven with out cutting and welding.

^ What Brett said. That pipe sucks.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

The Seven is not a friendly moped to mod. Good luck with your adventures! (Get a real moby!)

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

haha, true...i like my seven though.

everyone and their mother has a 50 or a mobylette.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

so, looks like I should probably just stick with the stock pipe after all...haha

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

something I am going to try on the moby I have. At least I will keep my kickstand. Does anyone have real info on this? Or are they just looking at it. I can also pick up an AV10 pipe for the next build

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

Does anyone have a heavily upgraded model 7? I wanna see it if theres one out there. If not you should totally pioneer the situation! I wanna see a model 7 speed contender.

ffreddie-

it's a leovince cobra right? got one one on an av7. it blows.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

Alright, I'm curious about a new pipe that Treats is selling. Here's the link . Does anyone know anything about this pipe? I'm thinking of buying one for my motobecane 50, but if it's a nice pipe I might attempt to put it on my model 7. The angle almost looks right, and I like the way this one looks. Probably will conflict with the stand, and it looks like it would be loud as hell, but I'm mostly curious to hear whether anyone has tried it and what the results were over stock motobecane exhausts.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

I had that pipe on a 50V.. It didn't really help much. For that price I'd stick with a stock muffler, or invest in the Ninja G3 or something similar.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

im about to begin cutting and welding my g3 to fit on my 7. ill post some pics when i get around to it

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

"The Seven is not a friendly moped to mod. Good luck with your adventures! (Get a real moby!)"

Savannah from landsquids says her Moby 7 does close to 40mph. I'm sure Jesse's 7 rips.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

Ryan bowers has an av7 7 moby. Shit is sick

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

I have dicked around with 7's for a long while.

My conclusion: they're funny.

That's all. It's just really fucking funny to bring something like that to a rally.

It's not variated. You need a machine shop to make the thing variate.

It has a wimpy stock exhaust. You absolutely can't put anything on it without hacking and welding on a serious level.

If you want to rock your 7 stock, or with some rad porting, do it, but you won't be putting sweet treats parts.

I've broken my engine mounts twice, bent two rear rims, had a 70 kit and a janky home-welded exhaust, bent my forks, etc etc...

I sold the bike, but it somehow ended up back in my possession. If it stays around my house much longer, i'm welding up mounts for an E-50.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

Eric says things like that to break my heart. I think you'll find that you will have a hard time mounting a pipe. My bike hasn't ripped in a while. Sad.

Re: Ninja G3 a good choice for Motobecane 7?

Andy, the key word there was friendly. I've seen some pretty outrageous modifications done to all makes of mopeds, even the Seven, but they were hardly easy to pull off by most peoples standards. It can be done, just not with ease.

if you are going to be hacking and welding up a pipe to work, you might as well just make the pipe bend directly to the right or left of the motor. At that point it might be easier to just make your own pipe from scratch to spec and get the motor to variate (or have a variated rear pulley!) and have yourself a completely ridiculous ripper and rally stopper!
