Batavus Jetting

78 Batavus Starflite, removed the exhaust manifold and am running the stock jet. What are the bing jets I need to run? What is the typical range of jets for a Laura M48 with s22 encarwi?

I also have a Flandria Bermuda that I just got with an s33. What is the typical range of jets for a s33?

Thanks

Removed the exhaust manifold? As in the baffle between the expansion chamber and the stinger, or the entire pipe? My '77 ran a 52 stock, but if you're running without a pipe God help you.

I dunno what the hell I was thinking on that, yes just the baffle.

So 52 jet you say? I can't get her idle no matter what I do with the idle screw and she's stalling out on really steep hills pretty bad. I am going to the beach this weekend and want to take that and the Flandria Bermuda that I just got. Tempted to do the clutch mod, but afraid that I'll break the spring and won't be able to take it at all. So I'm gonna get some jets rush delivered and see if up jetting 52, 54, 56 or a pantyhose airfilter solves the problem.

Thoughts?

1st go get a tube of thread sealant with teflon not tape the tape can split or crack carb housing.

Wipe it on jet holder threads and road test and plug chop.

Stock jet's or #54 #56 #58.

CK link for Mod's.

Re: Batavus Jetting

I run a 56 in my 1980 Starflite daily driver, and a 52 in my exhaust modded 1978 Straflite (and it's notably lean on cold nights).

Tom,

Just got our first touch of cool weather, and I definitely noticed the lean 52 jet. I couldn't figure it out, since I'd had it running well that same afternoon. Clearly the cold nights. I think I'm gonna up jet to a 54 or 56 and see what happens. Also, hoping bolting on a dellorto 13:13 or dellorto 15:15 (if I can find a custom intake).

Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Batavus Jetting

That's the main problem with single jet farms, rich on the bottom, lean on the top.

Treats has a 15:15 del phbg that I am hoping to get a hold of and make an Intake/reed block to match and see how that preforms

Re: Batavus Jetting

erm, carb not farm damn iPhone not knowing my moped lingo.

I've run a 54 in that carb and lowend is shit. If you don't run the bike hard with a 52 and a your gaskets are tight with no air leaks you should be okay, a 54 would be safe though

Re: Batavus Jetting

30 mph batavus are supposed to run a 56 or 58.

Re: Batavus Jetting

i found the best so far is a 56. no high flow filter on it though. so if you do that i'd start with a 58. I tried a 54 on my stock bike and it just didn't have the lowend.

i've got the 30mph version.
