Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

We put a treats simoni on my buddies FA50 but she just doesnt rip! cobbed a dellorto phb air cleaner on with a 82.5 jet, four stroking, no good, stock air box, better??? but still four stroking ( guess the dellorto was to small to flow??) stock airbox 80 jet runs good but low end is poor and top end is is 27 to 29 mph, any ideas? did I miss something obvious (very possible im not the longest crayon in the box) FYI stock jet is 77.5 and they go in 2.5 increments

thanks for any help, I didnt find much i could use with the search

the simos power band doesnt kick in until around 40mph. your FA50 will never go that fast. should have went with a boss, bullet, or biturbo

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

good to here that the people who bought these are actually using them. other than reading your plug. all i can think it might be is the restrictions. which can be taken out by some one who knows what to do. aka not me.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

Derek i hope he means the simo pipe for the fa 50 treats had because even a biturbo kicks in at 15mph on this bike.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

this is the treats FA50 simo pipe not a homemade setup, hope its not for nothing

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

yeah plug chop should point u in the right direction. also when mine ran and had the oil injection i had to ride it for a while before the engine heated up enuf to get the oil right.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

Your rpms are never going to reach the powerband on a stock engine for a simo pipe. You need to mil your head to up the compression, maybe rebuild your bottom end.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

my tomos simo (1/1) hits powerband only after i get going down a small hill or really go far wide open.

and i had to go down around 7 jets believe it or not while running that pipe and still 4 stroke a bit at the very top end.

good luck

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

that pipe is probably made for a kit that Simonini made at one time.

i didnt know they had a FA50 simo... well ill be damned

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

so im basically not gonna be able to get anything out of it? that blows, hes gonna be bummed, well that will teach him to buy a noped!

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

No, you can get a ton out of it, but you have to force your engine to rev higher.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

no u should be able to use it on stock unless u cut up a puch simo. i would do a plug chop. most people i think are talking about the puch simo which is a total top end pipe for a 75cc kit. i think u r talking about the fa 50 simo which treats was selling which is not a total top end pipe, or so it looks like to me.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

All simo pipes are top end pipes.

Thats what they're built for.

Racing.

I suggest doing research, or trying things out before giving advice.

I own a simo pipe, and ive ridden several other bikes with simo pipes.

Thats why its called Simonini racing.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

i stand correct still looks like a mid range pipe to me, but meh i don't know much about mopeds.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

It's a moped, Everything that looks like something, does something else.

It's about expansion chambers, header size, and stinger.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

so are you using a phbg or a stock carb? my friends fa50 needed the needle lowered to lean it out at midrange a bit. i would also maybe try it without the air filter. try milling your head. try a hotter and a colder plug. basically you need to try everything if you are having a problem. i know that fa50s don't rev too high stock, so maybe you need some porting done a little bit. probably move the exhaust port higher or lower just a teensy bit. i can't remember what would make it rev higher. you probably need to work a bunch on that thing, but i would assume it would be worth it.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

i would match the intake to. mine was about half an inch off

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

to achieve higher RPMs, you need to throw away the stock 10mm mikuni carb and get something bigger, and drill out your intake to a larger size also. The suzuki FZ50 rascal has a mikuni carb that's a direct perfect fit on the FA50 shuttle, and its a 14mm carb with 14mm intake setup, watch on ebay for one. last FZ50 I rode did 37 stock, but its also a 2 speed.

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

im not sure how much my buddy wants to get into but ill run this stuff by him, thanks for all the input

Re: Suzuki FA50 simonini help?

well a lot of the stuff we suggested is pretty cheap. especially if you work with what you have.
