Moped sounds: when you jet too high/low

(Casserollers) Gregory B. /

What does it sound like when you have your jet setting too high and you're at WOT?

What does it sound like when you have your jet setting too low and you're at WOT?

Trying to tweak my jet sizes and such. Color of plugs aren't helping, it's hard to tell.

Too high = sputtering (like a rolling "R," as in "R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-REGINALD!)

Too low = bogging sound (bwoooooaaaaah)

Re: Moped sounds: when you jet too high/low

too high = four stroking sound. Check wiki for more info on four-stroking

too low = sounds too lean. High-pictched, etc. takes a while to figure this out. Do plug chops, but make sure you don't have any air leaks (intake/head/base).

Always safest to be a little rich, might even want it so it four strokes a little before it warms up.. just to be sure.
