best options(opinions) for ciao frame bracing?

Cory (mrdr 133) /

ok, so my ciao is kitted and tuned, and variated, and running along fine; just like this sentance, but it's starting to bend at the bottom of the frame, where it starts to angle up, below the gas tank.

i need to fix this in order to ride it, and not die! i need to do something to brace this frame, whats the best option for this? i want a good strong one, but not heavy, and i don't wanna go broke doing this

thanks kiddo's

cheapest?

cut out a top tube from a bicycle that's the right length. Weld it in between the seat and head tube.

You could also weld in angle stock to the top and bottom of the frame, around the big hole where the engine mounts. it'd be fairly stealth, and depending if you have an old bed frame sitting around, could be free.

Can't weld?

You could figure something out with threaded rod and couplers.

really i just want something that isn't a $100 pre fabbed frame brace. i can get it welded no prob, but whats going to be the lightest and strongest? i guess thats what i shoulda asked.

I was wondering about this too, was thinking of trying like 1' mild steel tubing with a wall thickness of like 1/8', that should be plenty strong, not too heavy, and weld easy. Anyone know if you can get away with 1/16th?
