Hobbit metrakit

Anyone have one? I know the world is over this kit with the advent of the 7 port Malossi, but I was wondering- In the box came a rather odd black rubber tube that seems to also fit up with a brass ring that was included. What are these for? Some sort of exhaust gasketing?

I've never kitted a hobbit before... Is this something specific to metrakit?

Re: Hobbit metrakit

The brass ring is the exhaust gasket. The thing that looks like a snorkel replaces the stock intake you have sitting next to your carb. It's quite wonderful too. Simply rip out the old one and push the new one in place. The carb kind of squishes it but it's fine. And UPJET! Presto.

Re: Hobbit metrakit

Thanks.

When I bought it I thought it looked like an intake hose....

Hmmm....

I guess it's too bad I bored out my old intake and modded it into one that will work with a 16 mil dellorto SHA.

Re: Hobbit metrakit

Wow you're lucky it came with a gasket....my Molassi did not and I have been waiting almost a month for the Honduh dealership to get the gasket in for me...

Man, for some reason, I can't get links to post!

Go to ebay, and search on this:

Muffler Gasket XR50 CRF50 XR 50 crf 125cc PIT BIKE ATV

The gasket is 1-1/4" wide.

Anyway, it works fine!

Re: Hobbit metrakit

Hmm I was talking about the one between the crankcase and the cylinder.....

Where does this one go? I can't remember seeing anything that would use that....

But like I've said...its been sitting disassembled in my garage for almost a month...I'm super pissed...

Sorry - thought you were talking exhaust gasket.

I should have a NOS base gasket - I've also made one, I just buy bulk gasket material (in a sheet / roll) from the auto store, then cut with scissors.
