Airsal 65cc... Anything i should know?

I have a Puch Airsal 65cc kit on its way to my house.

Is there anything i should know about installing or running this kit?

I have done a search too... i just wanted to see if there were any other bits of info that would be good for me to have as this is my first kit installation.

my set up will be as follows:

14mm bing with high flow air filter

tecno boss pipe

most likely 16x45 gearing (although i heard that the boss might like 15 or 14 better in the front.)

Re: Airsal 65cc... Anything i should know?

you should also buy a 15 15 carb

Re: Airsal 65cc... Anything i should know?

that maybe in the future but for now i'm just interested in getting the kit installed properly and running stong.

I'm going to go with the 20-50 mile break in proceedure and see how it comes out.

Is there anyone that has this kit that could shoot me some advice on it?

Somebody must have some tips that would be good for this kit (or kits in general)

Remember to upjet!

Re: Airsal 65cc... Anything i should know?

One tip: 2 tanks of gas not "20-50" miles for break in. that should be better.

Re: Airsal 65cc... Anything i should know?

From other threads i've seen people say use a jet known to be rich for your set up... i really have no idea what a rich jet would be.

what would be rich on a 14mm bing? i have jets from 66-92

(my current set up with the stock 50cc likes the 68jet the best.)

Re: Airsal 65cc... Anything i should know?

I have an Airsal on my Puch. I bought it like 5 years ago and just installed it this past spring. I was told it was a 70 but maybe it really is a 65. Not sure? I'm running a 15mm bing and intake with a Techno Country pipe (looks like a biturbo).

I ran a 92 main jet for break in, then dropped down to a 90. Now I'm running an 88 and it might be a little lean.

I'm also running one of those metal mesh high flow filters...

It puts out pretty good power. No polini style power, but pretty good. I've gotten it up to 45 with all around good power once I tuned my 3 shoe clutch... Before the clutch tuning it had semi shitty low end, but once it got into the power band it would pull hard...

Re: Airsal 65cc... Anything i should know?

You should know that's a great kit.

I'm at over 1,500 miles on one of mine.

Start high and work your way down on those jets.

Re: Airsal 65cc... Anything i should know?

rich means bigger jets, more fuel!! run the 92 and work down. always check for airleaks along the way by spraying carb cleaner around intake and cylinder. if you have any fluxuation in idle, tighten it up!! make sure all surfaces are flat and use new gaskets all around!!

Re: Airsal 65cc... Anything i should know?

i found a guy that sells these kits for $100 shipped and he had them in stock i should get mine today... if all goes well then i'll post his name
