Ok....Everyone has questions about boss pipes now that treats has them. I already did a search and checked the spreadsheet.
I have a E-50 that was completely stock prior to adding a techno boss pipe. I have a 12 bing with stock air filter, a 58 jet and the needle in the top notch.
I was cruising when she seized up. I am assuming I need to upjet. I have seen some varying numbers in the high 60's and low 70's. Any suggestions?
I just put in a 62 and she was not running anything like the 58. Would not even hit 30 where before she would hit thirty like nothing. Also was four stroking.
did you check your cylinder after you seized? you may have something else wrong now.
I walked her home and let her cool off and then took her for another ride after changing the jet. Everything was fine other than the problems from upjetting. I am thinking that I either need to take the air filter off with the current jet to see what happened or maybe increase the oil to fuel ratio. I used to foul plugs when everything was stock and now the plug is brown instead of black and oily
You can't just look t the tuning spread sheet and assume you are jetting right. You have to look at things like the weather where the other people are tuning. If you are running the exact same setup in say Maine, I'm sue the guy in Florida is running a completely different range of jets than you are. You should just jet real high until you are four stroking and jet down accordingly. I'm sure that you already know this though?
You also just can't assume everything is ok in your cylinder after a seizure without taking the cylinder head off and LOOKING!
yeah you are probably getting some blow-by around your ring(s) now at the very least
Why did you put the needle pin all the way at the top? Slide it down a notch or two you probably seized because of lean conditions at mid-throttle.
14 bing with tecno and hi flow filter. i was running a 74 or 72 jet in sf.
