A55 governed?

I searched it up, and i keep getting mixed results. Some are saying the A55, on the Tomos Streetmate R, is governed and some are saying it isnt.

Is the motor on this governed?

Re: A55 governed?

search calling out a55 tuners

its an issue with the cdi we beleive

Re: A55 governed?

the cdi issue doesnt make a difference on non-kitted bike.

the otor is not governed. the only thing restricting it is gearing.

Re: A55 governed?

Yeah, what tommy said. Ditch the stock pipe, regear and upjet=done deal.

Re: A55 governed?

It is not governed. I have one, and it's able to go past 50 downhills...45 on the flats.

Re: A55 governed?

Tommy Brennan, engine is not governed but the cdi is restricted. it retard at high rpms and pulls back at idle or normal 1/8 position. checked with a timing light. Pat once you do what brennan said in terms of gearing pipe bigger carb and kit (last 2 I'm adding), then look into getting an a35 standard cdi with points to a;;ow you to adjust accordingly. prior to this, don't even think about it. not trying to be curt but you're getting feedback from someone who's invested hundreds between pipes, kits, gears portwork and I KNOW that the cdi is restricted. doing a true gps'd 50 but know that changing the cdi with everything I've done will bring me to about 58 - 60. so first advice invest in the prior things that were mentioned.

A55 governed?

Mine is often governed by the vibration it produces. Wish they'd get the rotating parts balanced at the factory! If I don't pay attention to the "governor", other parts break : (

Re: A55 governed?

A35's either had CDI or points, they can't have both.
