you can do it yourself... but you shouldn't do it. Wait until you're not a noob. Then wait until you realize you're a noob again, then once you get confident again, then do it.

I did some really _reeeeeeaaaally_ conservative exhaust port widening on my old Batavus, and saw a 3 or 4 mph increase.

I would recommend matching your intake and exhaust ports, and then maybe you can work on some actual cylinder porting.
