I really need to ride my bike tomorrow to work and don't want to wait for the new jets to come in...if I put the stock air filter back on and run it with just the Biturbo tomorrow will I be safe not damaging my engine...its got a stock 12mm bing.

No you will not be safe, or you probably will not be safe. Upjet or risk creating a boat anchor
Or just do plug chops and tune properly.
I guess I may just need to put the stock exhaust back on and run it stock till the jets come in.
A $7 microdrill set from your local hobby shop will get you up and running. Or, you can just run the stock exhaust.
tomos says you dont have to if you have a biturbo ONLY
yes upjet and install a high flow filter as well.
what tomos says will make ur moped slow, they come stock going 30mph u think they are in the biz of helping u get more speed?
u got a bi turbo to go faster right?
jets? what r those? lol there so many things u can change to keep your jet. like put on more air filter/less, mess with your float. i only know cuz i can't get jets :P
I need to do a plug chop...
I have only had this setup on since last Sunday and have only ran the bike 3-4 times for less than 1/2 hour each time (waiting for new tires to come so I can ride longer and farther)
I put my stock exhaust and air filter back on last night...the thing ran like my gramma so I took if off again and inspected the pipe for shits and giggles. The pipe was full of oily black stuff so bad that the baffle holes were somewhat clogged.
The bike only has 1500 origional miles on it and everything is origional...should stock pipe be that greasy inside? Does this mean the bike is running rich?
So then I inspected the jet...its a 66. Should a stock 12mm bing carb on a stock 1.5hp 1979 Maxi Luxe have that big of a jet? I just ordered yesterday a 64, 66,68, and 70 from treats. So I guess I only have a range of 4 now...
The ped runs great but I need to do a plug check tonight.
I'm running a 56 jet on my puch maxi 1.5hp with 12mm carb with a derestricted stock pipe. I'd say your running way too rich with your stock pipe, but would be around perfect for the biturbo. Joe
I have a high flow air as welll...so I will do a plug check to make sure what I need to do....
bike runs good now with the stock 66 jet and biturbo...however the plug check came out like coffee with 2 and a half creamers.
I have heard that running too lean can mess up your engine, so I will up the jet to a 68 and see what comes of it.
My wierd plug check- I rode about 2 miles to heat up the engine to running temp. The plug that was in it was a little oily/carbony when I checked it this morning when I was messin with the points.....so when I pulled the old plug out 2 miles into it it was still a little carbony, then I put the new plug in and drove WOT all the way home, pulled the plug and it was a little brown but good....then I looked at the old plug that was in my pocket and it was identical!?!?!?!
how can this happen? the old plug changed from black to brown when it was in my pocket? Before I even turned the bike on this morning it was still black....now it is the same color as the new plug. This is good?
You want the plug to be a brown coffee color. I would at least go one jet size up from stock to be safe cause you can seize from being too lean.
its brown....for sure...just light brown. I ordered jets this week and hope they come soon. I got a range of 64 to 70 (not knowng what the jet I was already runing was a 66)
so I will upjet to a 68 or the 70...probably start with the 70 first.
